The name is Vivian Lee — remember it, because I’m going to be famous someday. I’m a 21-year-old student living in Boston, Massachusetts, studying Management Science and Economics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. I have a plethora of interests, one of which is inserting the word “plethora” into every possible situation.
I am a soon-to-be graduate currently seeking opportunities in market research, marketing, or public relations, preferably for a dedicated independent research or services firm. In the future, I plan to receive my MBA and then transition into strategy consulting and/or equity research. I also hope to start a professional dance company with a few close friends. There are many job functions and industries that I wish to explore during my lifetime; I don’t believe in being stuck in one place forever. The more I can experience, the more I can grow and develop.
This blog, previously a venue for me to mind-dump thoughts, musings, and daily experiences, is now being transformed into a full-out memoir of my journey through life. As I approach graduation, there are a lot of challenges that lie ahead of me — becoming financially independent, living off near-minimum wage for the summer, figuring out where I want to go with my career, etc. It’s not easy at all, but to be honest I’m excited to see how these hardships will shape me. They say that the journey is just as important as the destination, and I hope one day my successes will be all the more sweeter because I worked hard to get there.
The title of is this blog is V is for Venerability, which means simply “being accorded a great deal of respect, esp. because of age, wisdom, or character.” It is a play on Christina Aguilera’s song V is for Vanity (which was also previously the title of one of my blogs). V, of course, being my initial, and venerability being the ultimate goal that I seek to attain every day.
